How Prime Is Becoming Core To Amazon’s Social Commerce Strategy?

16 November, 2023, Modern Retail

Amazon is leveraging its Prime membership as a competitive advantage in social shopping, evident through recent partnerships with Meta and Snap. 🛍️ Meta ads now showcase Amazon products, allowing users to purchase within the Meta app after linking their Amazon account. Similarly, a program on Snap enables shopping through Amazon without leaving the app. The emphasis is on seamless social shopping experiences, with real-time pricing and Prime benefits.

While details remain unclear, this move aligns with Amazon's long-term goal of driving significant growth in social shopping. Trust in Amazon's platform, combined with Prime's benefits, addresses historical hurdles faced by social shopping platforms. The partnership is currently in a trial phase, emphasizing controlled testing. Meanwhile, Amazon is restructuring its games division and faces a class action lawsuit related to alleged promotion of an "illegal internet gambling enterprise.🔄🔍
