Drinks industry faces cybersecurity challenges from smart manufacturing

20 September 2024, PR newswire

Group14 Technologies, a leader in advanced silicon battery materials, has been selected for a potential $200 million award negotiation by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). This funding is part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law aimed at boosting domestic battery manufacturing for electric vehicles and the electrical grid. Following a previous $100 million grant in 2022, this new project will allow Group14 to build a silane factory in Moses Lake, Washington, with an annual production capacity of 7,200 metric tons of silane gas, a critical component for next-generation silicon batteries. ⚑

Rick Luebbe, CEO and co-founder, emphasized the importance of domestic silane production to reduce reliance on foreign supply chains, primarily from China. The new facility is expected to create over 300 construction jobs and retain 150 employees for ongoing operations. Group14 is rapidly expanding its manufacturing capabilities and aims to support the growing demand for silicon-based battery materials as part of the global energy transition. 🌍

Data-driven Strategies for Organizational Success

20 September 2024, Businesswire

A new study by Zinnov and ProHance reveals that Global Business Services (GBS) organizations must adopt robust productivity frameworks to tackle economic challenges and foster sustainable growth. The research indicates that 53% of GBS leaders prioritize productivity improvement for 2024, yet many face hurdles due to limited access to reliable data. The Zinnov-ProHance Productivity Framework is designed to help organizations identify pain points and implement targeted interventions, with early-stage adopters reporting productivity increases of up to 20%.

As the role of GBS evolves from a cost center to a value driver, leaders must balance cost efficiencies with innovation. Karthik Padmanabhan from Zinnov emphasizes that sustainable productivity involves working smarter, not just harder. The framework encourages setting realistic KPIs and aims to move 19% of employees into high productivity zones within six months. This strategic blueprint enables GBS leaders to make data-driven decisions and effectively navigate today’s complex business landscape. πŸ“Š

Campari Group’s lead shareholder Lagfin ups stake

19 September 2024, Just Drinks

Lagfin, the majority shareholder of Campari Group, plans to increase its stake in the Italian drinks company, believing that the current share price is undervalued. The investment firm intends to purchase €100 million ($111.6 million) in ordinary shares over the coming days, contingent on favorable market conditions. Lagfin stated that the present valuation of Campari shares does not β€œaccurately reflect the true value” of the company.

As of August 31, 2024, Lagfin holds 51.4% of Campari Group’s shares and controls 82.5% of the voting rights. Just Drinks has reached out to Campari for confirmation on how much Lagfin’s stake would increase if the planned purchase is completed. This move reflects Lagfin's confidence in Campari's long-term potential and aims to solidify its influence within the company. πŸ“ˆπŸΉ

Awards program features various categories and receives global entries, underscoring significant advancements in the AI landscape.

Campari Group CEO Matteo Fantacchiotti resigns

18 September  2024, Just Drinks

Attilio Fantacchiotti has stepped down as CEO of Italy-based Campari Group just five months after his appointment in April, where he was previously managing director for the Asia-Pacific region. In a statement released on September 18, Campari cited "personal reasons" for Fantacchiotti's departure but did not provide further details. His brief tenure has raised questions within the industry regarding leadership stability. πŸ€”

Following his exit, Paolo Marchesini, the chief financial and operating officer, and Fabio Di Fede, the general counsel and business development officer, have been appointed as interim co-CEOs. They will also serve as executive members of a leadership transition committee, which will be chaired by Bob Kunze-Concewitz, the former CEO who is now a non-executive director. This transition comes as the company aims to maintain its operations and strategic direction in the competitive spirits market. 🍹
