Meta has been busy enhancing its AI experiences to help users get things done, learn, create, and connect with others. With a focus on safety and responsibility, Meta AI is set to become the most popular AI assistant in the world, currently used by over 400 million people each month. At the latest Connect event, they introduced exciting new features powered by their Llama 3.2 models, making Meta AI more fun and useful.

Talking to Meta AI

You can now talk to Meta AI using your voice on Messenger, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram DMs, and it will respond out loud! You can ask questions, learn something new, or even hear a joke. As this feature rolls out, you’ll have options for different voices, including ones from celebrities like Awkwafina, Dame Judi Dench, John Cena, Keegan-Michael Key, and Kristen Bell.

Smart Photo Assistance

Meta AI can now help you with your photos! You can share images in your chats, and Meta AI will recognize what’s in them. For example, if you share a picture of a flower from your hike, it can tell you what type of flower it is. You can also ask for cooking instructions based on a photo of a dish. Plus, if you want to edit a photo, you can tell Meta AI what to change, like your outfit or the background.

If you’re looking to share a photo on your Instagram Story, Meta AI can suggest fun backgrounds based on your image!

Translation for Creators

Meta is testing a translation tool that will automatically translate the audio of Reels. This means more people can enjoy content, even if they speak different languages. The tool can mimic the original speaker’s voice and sync their lips to match. Initial tests will focus on creators from Latin America and the US, translating videos between English and Spanish.

More AI Features on Facebook and Instagram

Meta AI’s Imagine feature is expanding! You can create images of yourself as a superhero or anything else and share them with friends. It can also suggest captions for your Stories. You can customize chat themes in Messenger and Instagram to make conversations more personal.

Additionally, you might see AI-generated images in your Facebook and Instagram feeds, based on your interests. You can interact with these images and even create new content in real time.

Tools for Businesses

Meta is also expanding its AI tools for businesses. Thousands of businesses using click-to-message ads on WhatsApp and Messenger can now set up AI assistants to communicate with customers, answer questions, and facilitate sales. 

Over a million advertisers are already using Meta’s generative AI ad tools, which have led to improved performance in ad campaigns, with higher click-through and conversion rates.

Meta is making significant strides in AI technology, making it easier and more enjoyable for everyone to connect, create, and conduct business!
