Blueland Company launched its range of products in 2019 to offer more sustainable alternatives to cleaning solutions which include single-use plastics. According to the report, almost a billion single-use plastic bottles have been taken out of landfills and seas.

They formulated and continue to manufacture the powder gel body wash 🧼 instead of a liquid soap solution to decrease the overall weight of their shipments, thus, reducing a large number of carbon emissions.

Last week, they launched a new product and gave customers in New York City the opportunity to swap their old body wash bottles🧴free of cost as a part of their marketing campaign.

The company also said that it was going to broaden its retail market. The company recently raised $35 million of capital and plans to expand into the retail market in-store through a partnership with container stores.

Almund’s newsletter will give you all kinds of tips for D2C brands and much much more.

WHAT’S COOKING, HUH?

Google has been the leader in cross-channel advertising for over 18 years, with the first launch of Google AdWords in October 2000. Advertisers not only have the opportunity to display advertisements on Google, YouTube, Gmail, Google Play, and Google Shopping but also have the opportunity to let display them on third-party search partner websites.

Despite Google & Facebook facing heavy criticism from politicians, the press, and consumers, Google recently announced its plans to expand its advertising platform on Google Maps. Some suggest that the plan of acquiring more capital from maps, where more than 1 billion people share information every day, would invite more inquiries or open "warm legal boxes".

While these platforms continue to dominate advertising and generate revenue, we found retailers' skepticism about the effectiveness of their advertising campaigns and investments.

The main issue in the industry is the advertising of offensive content from brands and retailers. YouTube.has faced constant criticism and boomerang boycotts for its inability to regulate inappropriate content on its platform. Brands including Disney, Nestlé, Epic Games (behind Fortnite), and AT&T have withdrawn or decreased their public advertising costs this year.

YouTube has previously tried to address concerns about its advertising policy. Still, the same issues continue to recur, creating a yo-yo effect for brands to curb and pull their advertising costs.

5 Ways to Attract New Audience As A DTC Brand

Retaining customers is essential for a consistent income as a business, for growth, and for acquiring new ones.

Regardless of the scale of your business, ever since the DTC industry has seen a sharp rise in the number of people seeking personalized services from brands, scaling up is the only way to sustain yourself in this cutthroat industry.

That’s why it’s essential for your business to put together strategies—be it paid advertising, social media marketing, or an organic approach—that can help you scale your business while maintaining the important relationships you make with your existing audience.

#1 Open A Pop-Up Store In Low Engagement Areas

Indeed, you must’ve run an ad campaign by now. If you’re one to run different sets of ads based on various geographical locations within the country, you would’ve seen a difference in the engagement rates.

Zone in on areas where you’re closing fewer leads and open up pop-up stores in these locations. Perhaps, they wish to check out your products in person before buying from you. With this pop-up store, they’d not only interact with you more but also have a more fulfilling experience with your brand.

#2 Test Out A New Platform

If you’re trying to get the attention of new customers, trying out a new platform is your best bet. Users on Instagram and Pinterest might overlap, but you’ll surely find a few outliers.

When building foundations on a new platform, switch things up a little! Surely repurpose your content but ensure you don’t repeat how you publish it, giving your users a new way to engage with your brand.

#3 Create Your Content Differently

If you wish to avoid migrating to a new platform, perhaps, switching the way you speak about your products/services can help you acquire new customers.

Change the way you create content, organic as well as sponsored ads, to reach new audiences. Although this might confuse or disappoint your existing audience; hence, it’s always better to try this on a new social media channel altogether.

#4 Launch A New Product/Service

With previous products/services manufactured, launched, and marketed effectively, you’ve already got business operations set in place. The easiest way then, to appeal to a new audience is to modify and create new products or services to cater to a vast sector or customers you’ve been missing out on.

Of course, this is a strategy that may take more time to show any effects, but it’s a sure-shot way to grow your business.

#5 Live Streaming!

Live streaming is IN. With numerous platforms giving you opportunities to live stream your content for anyone to view, you simply cannot let this chance go.

With each live stream, you can cater to a different section of the audience, giving everyone a chance to have a personalized experience with your brand.

Acquiring new customers is difficult and challenging; it takes tons of effort from your team to develop a plan that suits your business’ needs and all the time and money you have to offer to initiate the strategy.

So spend some time understanding the kind of audience you wish to attract and strategize accordingly to ensure your team can hit all the targets as planned.
