WHAT’S HAPPENING IN THE D2C WORLD?

"Alibaba GroupChairman and CEO Daniel Zhang has predicted the rise of a new generation of digitally native consumer brands, where designers tap data analytics to meet changing consumer trends."

He believes that D2C models are coming to the fore and are transforming the way people build businesses due to the pandemic. He says, “I strongly believe this is going to happen elsewhere in the world, but China is obviously taking the leading position and moving very quickly, especially for new brands’ development and the D2C model." 

He claims that Alibaba is developing new forms of retail in various categories, including fashion and furniture. 

When the pandemic's restrictions ease up, the ad economies open up all around the world. Traditional retailers are finding it hard to carry on the business in the current day to day world due to the numerous challenges caused by a coronavirus. 

Daniel Zhang has also claimed that Alibaba has been helping out traditional businesses with digital interfaces to power sales opportunities and move towards the cloud. “This integrated model could be the future of retail. It’s not only about a standalone sales opportunity; it’s all about redefining the customer experience that goes beyond their expectations," says Zhang.

People have always been shown on social media about the various "make-up" techniques to be used. Women at times feel inferior and buy a variety of make-up products to stand out. Anastasia Bezrukova suggests minimalistic make-up. 

This San Francisco, Ipsy alum beauty brand launches its D2C e-commerce with three products, to begin with; a lip gloss, a cream blush, and a cream highlighter. This is a vegan brand that is being sold at The Detox Market

They want to showcase and throw light onto minimalist make-up. Bezrukova said, “I want to tell my customer that she doesn’t need to buy more, and I want us to promote mindful consumption as a path to sustainability."

The brand's social content and site regard the minimalist movement that has spread across the world in the past few years. Decluttering advice, videos of the founder’s own Kondo-ization of her living space, and beauty-product decluttering sessions with influencers such as Ava Lee (@glowwithava, who has 120,000 Instagram and 1.1 million TikTok followers), feature on Minori's Instagram profile.

“Even if we look at the past 20 years, on a day-to-day basis, women want to look natural and look like themselves,” said Bezrukova.
