WHAT’S COOKING, HUH?

How Can Digital Marketers Leverage The Potential Of Over-The-Top Platforms?

The marketing landscape has been constantly evolving due to improvements in digital technologies 💻. The ongoing Covid-19 pandemic has exacerbated this trend, forcing firms to adopt agility and seek out new development opportunities.

Cinema theatres came to a halt in 2020, with the rise of over-the-top (OTT) technologies. 🍿They filled the void by delivering a wide range of rich, multilingual material to people's smartphones, laptops, and home screens.🎥

The global expansion of over-the-top (OTT) media services has created a plethora of options for digital marketers looking for new methods to reach out to their customers.

Here's how digital marketers may take advantage of OTT platforms' expanding popularity. Targeting Audiences with Precision

On OTT services, each user logs in using their credentials. Marketers will gain access to precise consumer data such as age, gender, region, devices utilized, and browsing trends as a result of this. 📱

Marketers can use this information to personalize marketing campaigns for certain audiences. As a result, advertisers can reach their target audiences and provide relevant, tailored ads, all while increasing engagement, saving money, and increasing ROI. 💍

Advertising on OTT platforms is an innovative method to contact customers. This allows advertisers to distribute their ads across all platforms that consumers use to access the OTT platform, resulting in "second chance" business.💁

Adding OTT platforms in a digital marketer's communication mix provides significant benefits. The number of individuals watching OTT material is growing rapidly ( True, right?), and the platforms are causing behavioral shifts in how consumers consume content. Marketers can take advantage of this trend to attract more attention to their brand, as well as target and engage new customers in novel ways.💪

A Good Landing Is The Only Answer

Ever happened to visit a website so great that you’ve been mesmerized enough to start exploring the brand? Subscribe to their newsletter? Or perhaps, make a purchase? Well, that’s the power of a great landing page.

A landing page is a standalone web page where a visitor reaches upon clicking a call-to-action button (CTA) from an emailer, newsletter, an ad, or a social media bios and descriptions across channels ranging from Instagram and YouTube to TikTok!

These landing pages are designed for just 1 simple goal—prompting customers with a CTA. Whether it’s getting them to subscribe to your newsletter, use an e-coupon, or create an account, these landing pages are designed to catch their attention and increase conversions.

Don’t believe us? Take a look at some of these stats!

👉🏼 The average rate for landing page conversions is 9.7%

👉🏼 Creating 10-12 landing pages increases lead generation by 55%

👉🏼 Landing pages make up to 5.1% of sign-up forms for brands

👉🏼 Publishing landing pages routinely can get you better leads; more than 40 could generate 12x more leads

👉🏼 Half of the leading industry marketing experts build a new landing page for each marketing campaign

The stats don’t lie! Landing pages bring loads of benefits for your DTC business. So if you’re hesitant about investing time, effort, and money into developing a landing page for your campaign, we can give you plenty of reasons to gun for it today.

😁 Impressive First Impressions

For the visitors who’ve reached your website through organic search or clicked on the CTA on the ad, you’re running, landing pages are the first impressions. Well-designed landing pages with quality content keep the visitor front-and-center while providing clear CTAs to the next step to help increase your conversion rates.

🎯Direct Communication Is Good Communication

Landing pages embody the no-nonsense approach when it comes to communicating with your potential customers. Fueled with customer-centric content and armed with a great lead magnet and a clear CTA, landing pages ensure to not waste your visitors’ time with unnecessary jargon—something that’s greatly appreciated (as the stats say!)

📥Help Take Your Brand Message Forward

Landing pages are usually designed for every campaign. While they are focused, goal-oriented, and optimized for results, they do a great job at reflecting your brand values, mission, and vision. That is if you have mastered the craft of creating persuasive content.

👷Build Credibility

Social proof on landing pages sells! According to a report, over 36% of the best landing pages had testimonials and customer reviews. These reviews often help catch visitors’ attention and allow them to trust your brand freely. Even a simple banner with client testimonials can help your conversion rate increase multiple folds.

↔️Great Promotion Channel

If your visitors are going through your blogs, whitepapers, and other long-form content on your website, there is no doubt that they often end up getting distracted and don’t reach the end of the web page. However, that isn’t the case at all with landing pages!

These standalone pages are a great way to use simple tactics and great content to promote any new service or product launched by your DTC business. Of course, you would want to promote it via other social media channels and platforms, but designing a landing page can be a great way to increase traffic to your website.

📈 Increase In Leads

Landing pages work best with lead magnets. They can be a free cheatsheet, free webinar seat, a resource or guide, or a free trial for your product/service. These assets, along with great content and success stories in the form of testimonials, compel your visitors to drop their mail IDs, helping you collect emails for your mailing list.

🥸 Enhances Your Brand’s Visibility

Landing pages can get quite technical real quick. Several web page practices help your landing page perform, which ultimately helps increase your brand’s visibility on search engines.

For instance, your conversions can improve by a whopping 86% by adding a video onto the landing page, which helps your brand rank higher. You can also improve your landing page SEO using backlinks, enhancing your website visibility.

It is a no-brainer; with an avalanche of benefits that landing pages bring with them to a DTC business, you ought to start investing in designing some for your upcoming campaigns! But before you even get to brainstorming, pause to think if you know which kind would be the right one for you. That’s right! There are five types of landing pages. So, let us walk you through them!

#1. Squeeze Page

This is the most important landing page for any DTC brand. As the name suggests, this landing page is designed to squeeze the information out of your customer. Information can include name, email ID, contact information, etc. Often this exchange is incentivized using a free asset from the brand such as a free trial, coupon for a discount, or downloadable content such as a free whitepaper, report, ebook, etc.

#2. Click-Through Page

The only purpose these landing pages serve is to help you gain conversions. Without beating around the bush, these standalone pages display details about the offers or products and services by your brand accompanied with a clear CTA to drive customers to the next step.

#3. Infomercial Page

These long-form landing pages have your visitors scrolling for a long time but for very good reasons! A typical infomercial landing page has a word count of over 7000, organized using embedded lists, highlighted banners, and spaced paragraphs to help make the content readable.

The content is focused on the benefits of your products and services. These pages also showcase testimonials and reviews to coax visitors into clicking the CTAs using the feeling of FOMO.

#4 Product Landing Page

What’s better than answering all your visitors’  questions even before they look for them. A product description landing page consists of detailed information regarding all your products or services. These kinds of landing pages aren’t just standalone web pages; they give your visitors access to the website's menu, other pages, and necessary contact information.

#5 HomePage

This has got to be the laziest, most laid-back attempt to create a landing page, right? While it is a fairly good attempt at trying to get your visitors’ attention, we’d advise against it. A HomePage consists of navigation buttons, website banners for ongoing offers and new arrivals, product CTAs, and much more. With so many elements battling for attention, your visitors are going to lose their focus when trying to learn more about your campaign.

In our next edition, we’d walk you through some of the best practices when creating landing pages, must-have elements, and a great deal of (visual) inspiration. Toodles!
