D2C x CRYPTO

NFTs come in a variety of shapes and sizes, but their technological qualities are what set them apart. The token is a blockchain-based cryptographic asset that is one-of-a-kind, with its own set of identifying data. ( It has got its uniqueness) ❄

They may appear to be extremely art world-y at the moment, but climate examples are already appearing on the same platforms that creative pursuits use.

The 100,000,000(That's a huge number)🔢 Mangroves initiative is one of them, according to venture capitalist Shayle Kann of Energy Impact Partners. It is a collection of creative work that will use earnings from the sale of artwork to fund the planting (and protection) of a large number of mangroves.🌳

When it comes to using decentralized web technologies to support environmental projects, as Neal Spackman, the founder of Regenerative Resources and the project's sponsor, puts it, "the digital surface has barely been scratched."

We also have at least one climate DAO operating in the carbon markets: Klima DAO. There may be more climate-related DAOs in the future.

They could be the operating system for an electrical cooperative made up entirely of individually owned distributed generation, the manager of a large-scale regenerative agriculture project, or the rulebook and contract for recycling lithium-ion batteries that have reached the end of their useful lives.

So, in the coming months, Let’s keep an eye  👀 out for Web3, NFT, and decentralized app climate concepts. Also, don't be shocked if the ones that prove to be the most practical and have the most climatic impact and have a strong centre.

It’s A Game Of Push & Pull Here

Those pesky little pop-ups that are notorious for gaining your attention no matter how tired you are, to show you just what you’re missing at the last moment possible, and have you clicking on the convenient CTA below—yes, that’s just what you’re missing.

Push notifications might be the key element missing in your strategy. Let’s tell you more about it while you’re here.

What Is A Push Notification?

Push notifications are clickable pop-up notifications. They are commonly associated with phones, tablets. And other handy devices. However, many websites are adopting this strategy to target their customers too. It is an efficient and quick mode of communication with your subscribers and/or customers, commonly used to announce launch or giveaways, discounts, and offers, convey important information such as updated policies, etc.

Their biggest secret to success is that they are simple, short, and attractive (let’s all thank designers and developers across the globe). The no-nonsense nature of these notifications makes them effective in keeping the audience eng waged at all times.

Let’s Dissect A Push Notification!

Less is more with push notifications, really. With just a few crucial elements, you can create a successful notification.

These usually consist of a title, notification message, icon or images, and a strong CTA. A web push notification can look something like this:

Push notifications for mobiles look a little different. With a shorter copy and powerful CTA, your notification can be attractive and eye-catching. Something like this:

But attractive and smart messaging aren’t the only benefits to push notifications. A push notification strategy can benefit your DTC business in many ways, depending on how you use them.

🏆 Increase Website Traffic Retention

A passing customer is no good to you or your business. But if you get their attention long enough for them to visit again and again and again, that’s a party.

With push notifications on your website or app, you can put the most critical, eye-catching piece of information (offers, discounts, giveaways, and incentives) front and center for them to be tempted to return to your website.

⏱️ Saves Your Time

Any DTC marketer will tell you how important it is to be virtually closer to your customer. Newsletters, emails, websites, and blogs are some ways that help you in doing so but it takes a lot of time, effort, and expertise to craft these pieces of content. While a successful push notification is also difficult to write, it is a far easier job to do.

🏁 Agile Content

You can send push notifications for real-time updates to your customers via different channels. A ‘cart abandonment’ notification on the app, an ‘order placed’ notification as an SMS, an ‘order dispatched’ notification on the mail—they are all great ways to use push notifications to keep your customers constantly updated without being pushy.

🔗 Decreased Platform Dependency

Push notifications are supported by browsers like Chrome, Firefox, Opera. You can also stay connected with your audience through their phones via in-app notifications.

✊🏼 The Power Is Still In Their Hands

They still hold the power to turn these off but you have opportunities to capture their attention. By letting them know about the kind of messages you’d be sharing (offer announcements, information updates, surveys, etc.) while requesting their permission to ‘allow’ notifications, you can be sure they would hit that CTA.

We admit, at first glance, that push notifications don’t look that glamorous. But they can help increase your brand visibility, increase customer engagement and retention.

So, buckle up for our next edition where we’d give you some hot tips when working on push notifications, critical metrics to track, and some great examples for inspiration!

The Importance of Customer Segmentation

Before we understand why customer segmentation is important, let's get to know what customer segmentation is for a DTC company.

Customer segmentation is the process of dividing customers into groups based on common characteristics so companies can market to each group effectively and appropriately.

In business-to-consumer marketing, companies often segment customers according to demographics that include:

  • Age

  • Gender

  • Marital status

  • Location (urban, suburban, rural)

  • Life stages (single, married, divorced, empty-nester, retired, etc.)

Segmentation allows marketers to better tailor their marketing efforts to various audience subsets. Those efforts can relate to both communications and product development.

In a recent survey conducted by Researchscape, on behalf of Everage, 75% of marketers reported using customer segmentation to deliver personalized experiences to specific groups of customers, while 54% delivered customized notifications based on users’ actions. The impact was overwhelmingly positive: marketers reported an improvement in customer experience (64%), better conversion rates (63%), and an increase in visitor engagement (55%).

Here are some of the key benefits that customer segmentation brings to online retailers that incorporate it into their marketing strategies:

  • Higher conversion rates

  • Long-term revenue from customers

  • Better insight into your customer base

  • Helps in acquiring customers

  • Improve customer satisfaction and retention

WHAT’S COOKING, HUH?

Twitter Inc. announced the debut of a service on January 20 that allows users to display non-fungible tokens (NFTs) as profile images, capitalizing on a digital collectibles mania that has exploded in the last year. 🐦

The function, which is only available to Twitter Blue subscribers on iOS📱 , connects users' Twitter accounts to crypto wallets where they deposit their NFT holdings.

NFT profile images are displayed as hexagons on Twitter, which distinguishes them from the conventional circles available to other users. When you tap on the images, information about the art and who owns it appears. (innovative🧐

Proponents of "Web3" 🕸 technologies such as NFTs argue that they decentralize ownership online by allowing people to profit from popular inventions rather than having those benefits accrue exclusively to a small number of tech platforms.

Jane Manchun Wong, a security researcher, highlighted one of those links in a widely shared tweet following the debut, revealing how an outage at venture-backed NFT marketplace OpenSea temporarily prevented NFTs from loading on Twitter.
