Snapchat's Bitmoji Drop Includes Adidas Merchandise That Can Be Purchased

Snapchat has announced a new partnership with Adidas to offer users a limited-time Bitmoji Fashion Drop.

This allows users to purchase exclusive merchandise for their Bitmoji avatar using Snap Tokens, a virtual currency introduced in 2020. Snap Tokens can be purchased in the Snapchat app by going to "My Snap Tokens" in the profile section and selecting various token packages ranging from 80 tokens for $0.99 to 1,100 tokens for $9.99.

The exclusive Adidas track jacket, the "Into The Metaverse," can be claimed using 250 Snap Tokens and is available until Friday. In addition to being used to purchase exclusive merchandise, Snap Tokens can also be redeemed for gifts to creators or digital goods within games.

Snapchat has previously offered Bitmoji Drops, but this is the first time users will have to use Snap Tokens to claim an item. In September, Snapchat launched its first Bitmoji Drop, allowing users to obtain exclusive digital Air Jordan 2 Balvin sneakers.

The company reported that over two million people claimed the merchandise before the Drop window closed.

This latest Bitmoji Drop featuring an exclusive Adidas track jacket offers Snapchat the opportunity to generate revenue by selling virtual merchandise to users. If successful, this strategy could potentially become a new source of revenue for the company.

With 363 million daily active users as of October 2022, Snapchat has a large user base to potentially engage with its new Bitmoji Drop featuring the exclusive Adidas track jacket.

While two million users claimed the previous Bitmoji Drop, it will be interesting to see how many users redeem 250 Snap Tokens to claim this new item. This will provide insight into the potential success of this offering in terms of user engagement and revenue generation for the company.
